Relationships
I work with individuals who want significant change in their personal, social, and professional lives. In most cases, individuals identify relationship difficulties as the source of depression and anxiety symptoms. The symptoms usually point to the growth and development of a new sense of self. I have often seen these symptoms improve or disappear when clients begin to clarify who they are, and want to be, in relation to others.

Grieving
I often work with people who have lost a loved family member, or a cherished coworker, both suddenly and over time. This work includes many experiences working with groups of people, collectively grieving a death and making new meaning of the loss together.

Grieving is a powerful view into one's self, and how one will grow and live differently. Though we never completely lose our grief for those who suffered or died, ultimately, death teaches us how we want to live. Grieving is a critical passage into maturity, accepting life on life's terms.

Work/Career Development
Work and career are very central to health and well-being. Adults see this when they experience stress in a job or career which took years to build. Core parts of life - sleep, diet, energy, mood and relationships - can be disturbed by extreme work stress.

Common issues in my office include co-worker and supervisory relationships, career direction, changes due to mergers/acquisitions (layoffs, reorganizations), and relocation to and from other communities.

My background includes 17 years as a business executive and consultant, and a Masters program that specialized in occupational mental health.
